About Me

I am a 20-something working in fundraising for a regional theatre in San Diego. I moved here two years ago from North Carolina. I grew up in a quaint little city in Virginia between Richmond and Washington, D.C. called Fredericksburg. I am still close with my childhood best friends that I grew up with there. It will always be home no matter how long I've lived away.

I went to Clemson University in South Carolina for undergrad and studied Production Studies in Performing Arts. I've played the violin for over 15 years and been involved in theatre most of my life. The major allowed me to combine my two loves of music and theatre and learn the business aspects of the arts as well. After graduation I headed north to Pittsburgh to pursue a Master of Arts Management degree at Carnegie Mellon University. The summer between my two years of graduate school I headed out to sunny San Diego to do an internship with the La Jolla Playhouse. I fell in love with the city and the theatre that created Jersey Boys and so many other great musicals and plays.

I spent two years in Charlotte, North Carolina after graduating from Carnegie Mellon. I worked many jobs, but my longest was at the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Then in the summer of 2010 I got the job I'm in now at La Jolla Playhouse, and I packed up my life in a U-Haul and headed west!

I started this blog to document all my journeys out in the Golden State. I hope you enjoy reading :)
